This is one of the many poems that I wrote during a long distance relationship. I also performed it in my high school theatre class autodrama (one person play) "Words of Expression". This was also the first poem that I wrote in sonnet form.
|
Her love permeates the shell of my heart,
defenseless, am I, to her loving touch,
which soothes my soul and causes me so much
joy, that I can not bear from her to part.
My love for her is one of much longing;
of wishing to have her more often near,
embracing her fondly, holding her dear
as we share our love; such joyous bonding.
Alas, she's not near, but so very far.
Her radiant beauty, which I so miss,
the spark in her eyes, the feel of her kiss,
and the glow of her love; my guiding star.
And thus, so it seems, that Fate sets a price
that I'm forced to pay for such paradise.
